SikaÂ® Primer-290 DC is a solvent-based, unpigmented primer designed for the marine industry. This primer is ideal for bonding and sealing wooden planks. It comes in a clear to slightly yellowish primer that reacts with moisture and forms a thin layer that acts as a link between substrates and adhesives. SikaÂ® Primer-290 DC has been specially formulated for treating wooden planks prior to caulking with SikaflexÂ®-290 DC or bonding with SikaflexÂ®-298. This primer is particularly useful in the marine industry for improving the adhesion and sealing of gaskets and adhesives on wooden surfaces. The available packaging is 250ml.

Description

Application Method for the nautical sector: To achieve good adhesion, surfaces treated with SikaÂ® Primer-290 DC must be clean, dry, and free from grease, oil, dust, and other contaminants. In some cases, adhesion can be improved by adding and/or combining pre-treatment processes such as abrasion and cleaning. Apply a thin but covering layer of SikaÂ® Primer-290 DC with a clean and dry brush, making sure that the teak is completely covered by the primer but avoiding excess material. Allow treated surfaces to dry for at least 60 minutes before sealing or bonding with SikaflexÂ® products. The ideal temperature for application and surface preparation is between 15Â°C and 25Â°C. SikaÂ® Primer-290 DC should be applied in a thin and covering layer only once. Take care to ensure that this single application provides a sufficiently dense coverage. Consumption and application method depend on the specific nature of the substrates. After use, seal the container of SikaÂ® Primer-290 DC tightly to prevent solvent loss. You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We will also pay the return shipping costs if the return is the result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of your parcel being delivered to the returning courier, however in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive the return from the carrier (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes for us to process the return once received (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 working days).

If you need to return an item, simply log in to your account, view your order using the "Complete Orders" link in the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We will notify you via email of your refund once your returned item has been received and processed.
